Why Progenics
Canada’s trusted cryobank for stem cell collection, processing, and storage since 2004. We have cryopreserved over 24,000 cord blood units using advanced technology to ensure high stem cell viability. Our Canada-based processing is completed swiftly to maximize cell recovery for hematology and regenerative medicine applications. We stand by our quality—if the TNC yield falls below 85%, we waive the processing fee.
Accreditations
Progenics is an AABB-accredited facility, registered with Health Canada and the FDA, with extensive experience in processing cord blood to meet the highest regulatory and accreditation standards.
ABOUT US
OUR MISSION
Regulated by Health Canada, we are committed to providing our clients with the highest quality processing for long-term cryopreservation in our modern Canadian processing and storage facility. We ensure that cryopreserved stem cells meet current regulatory requirements and international accreditation standards for safe, secure, and effective storage, with prompt retrieval when needed for clinical use in cellular therapy.
OUR VISION
To be the leading provider of excellent Canadian cryobanking services, delivering the highest viable yield of processed stem cells for potential clinical use. We are committed to supporting families across diverse communities by ensuring reliable access to our superior cryopreservation services for cellular therapy products.
Our Lab
At Progenics, we use a unique, modified double stem cell extraction technique developed by our Research & Development team, which results in a higher recovery rate of total nucleated cells (TNC) for optimal stem cell viability.
Our modern Canadian storage facility is equipped with backup generators and 24/7 monitoring systems, including video surveillance, environmental controls, and alarms. In the event of an emergency, backup liquid nitrogen freezers are on-site to immediately transfer the contents of any malfunctioning freezers.
We use FDA and NDA approved, sterile cord blood collection bags, designed to ensure safe and efficient collection for all types of births. Our freezing bags feature two compartments, allowing the cord blood stem cells to be used for up to two transplants, or one compartment can be used for expansion while the other is preserved for direct transplant.
